Below you'll find information regarding our most commonly ordered coin types. These are the coins you can select to turn into pendants as shown when browsing our online shop. If you are ordering a pendant design and would like a specific year, please use the information on this page to choose a particular coin/year combination provided. If you are interested in a coin which is rare or in an unavailable year, please contact us and we will try our best to accommodate you.

Old One Penny

The classic British penny, sometimes abbreviated to just 'd'. For the 'rare or unavailable' years we can often source the same penny from a different Mint, in another country (i.e. an Australian penny).

Old Halfpenny

This is a good size for a smaller pendant design.

Material: Bronze

Non-Silver Half Crown

Made from Cupro-Nickel, this is the last half crown design made pre-decimalisation.

Non-Silver Sixpence

The 'lucky' Sixpence, previously hidden in Christmas Puddings for the unlucky recipient, is smaller than most of the coins we work with, hence not all designs can be cut in to this coin. Ideal for cufflinks.

Old Ten Pence

These florin-sized coins are no longer legal tender and are much larger than the modern ten pence.

New Ten Pence

As well as the Nickel-Plated version of this coin, the Mint also produces a Sterling Silver version which can be obtained from the Mint, contact us for more information.

Old Fifty Pence

Larger than the New Fifty pence this seven-sided coin makes a great coin pendant.

Smaller than its predecessor this coin can also be obtained in solid Silver or Gold, contact us for more information.

Old Five Pence

Same size and weight as the Old Ten Pence, this coin is no longer legal tender and is considerably larger than the new five pence pieces, which are too small to be cut, but not large enough for every design. Ideal to be used for cuff-links.

Non-Silver One Shilling

This coin comes in both English and Scottish versions. Please let us know if you have a preference.

Non-Silver Two Shilling (Florin)

A very nice sized coin to use for a pendant (we think!) and ideal design for rings keeping the outer writing of the coin intact.

Half Silver Sixpence

Maria Theresa Thaler 1780

Weighing one ounce of Solid Silver. These coins allow the space for intricate and highly detailed pendant designs. Perfect for the Tree Of Life designs. Available only on a 1780 coin as they are re-strikes.

Solid Silver Crown

The Daddy of British Silver Coins. Weighing one ounce of Solid Silver. These coins allow the space for intricate and highly detailed pendant designs. Same size as a modern Solid Silver £5 coin (which we can also obtain for you on request).

Farthing

This coin weighed 6.6 grams and the diameter was 21 mm across the sides and 22 mm across the corners.
